Hardening Accelerator

SikaRapid®-820 P is a hardening accelerator in powder form for cementitious dry mortar and concrete. SikaRapid®-820 P develops after a few hours very high strengths.

SikaRapid®-820 P provides the following advantages through accelerated hardening of mortar / concrete within 20 min to 2 hours depending on mix design, fresh mortar temperature and curing conditions:
  • workability time 10 – 15 min
  • end of hardening 15-18 min
  • approx. 25 MPa after 24 h at 20°C in concrete
  • good strength development even below 10°C
  • adjustable workability with SikaTard-805 P
SikaRapid®-820 P does not contain chlorides, nitrates or any other ingredients which promote the corrosion of steel. It is therefore suitable for use in reinforced and prestressed concrete structures.

Overview

Usage

SikaRapid®-820 P is especially suitable for any application where high early strength development plays a major role, or is of crucial importance within the first hours. SikaRapid®-820 P is used but is not limited for the following applications:
  • rapid setting fixing mortars and grouts for fast loading
  • precast elements for early demoulding and fast removal
  • fast setting foam mortar
  • fast setting tile adhesive
  • fast setting post fix dry mortar

Application

Compatibility

SikaRapid®-820 P may be combined with many other Sika products like Sika® ViscoCrete®. To adjust begin of setting, the addition of SikaTard®-805 P is recommended.
Note: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes and contact Sika technical service for information and advice about any specific combinations.

Dispensing

SikaRapid®-820 P is added to the dry mix.

Recommended dosage

2 - 5 % by weight of cement (according to the target accelerating effect)
