SikaTard®-900 P
SikaTard®-900 P is a high-performance set retarder in powder form for cement and cement-gypsum based binder systems.
- Very efficient retardation at low dosage
- Works with all cement types
- Positive effect on consistency
Usage
SikaTard®-900 P provides excellent performance in the adjustment of setting time and workability cement-gypsum based dry mortars. The product is especially suitable for the following applications:
- In cementitious self-levelling screeds
- In ternary, OPC-rich self-levelling underlayments
- In with cement stimulated anhydrite flow screeds
- As additional retarder component to adjust application time in gypsum plaster and lime-gypsum-plaster
Advantages
SikaTard®-900 P offers the following advantages:- Very effective on CEM I-cements with high sulphate resistance (HS)
- Very effective on slag cements (CEM III)
- Influence on the formation of ettringite in fresh mortar
- Very efficient retardation at low dosage
- High robustness in a wide dosage range
- Extension of processing time up to several hours, depending on dosage
- Compatible with other additives, such as Sika® ViscoCrete® superplasticizers
- No reduction in the final strength (unlike with several fruit acid based retarders)

Compatibility
SikaTard®-900 P may be combined with many other Sika products and most usual additives including superplasticizers, foaming agents / defoamers and stabilizers. In these combinations i.e. with Sika® ViscoCrete® superplasticizers, additional improvements in flow and setting-time adjustment can also be achieved.
Note: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes and contact our Technical Services Department for additional information about specific combinations with other products.
Dispensing
The product is added to the dry-mix.
Recommended dosage
Typical dosage rage: 0.05 - 0.5 % of cement weight.
Differences in cement type, cement age and storage conditions of the binder and other conditions and factors at the plant and/or on-site can also influence the setting time and therefore the dosage requirements.
Note: Preliminary testing is required to determine the exact dosage for specific applications and conditions. Please contact our Technical Services Department for any additional information and assistance
