SikaTard®-901 F

RETARDER FOR CEMENTITIOUS AND GYPSUM BINDER SYSTEMS

SikaTard®-901 F is a high-performance set retarder in powder form for cement, cement-gypsum based and ternary binder systems.

SikaTard®-901 F offers the following advantages:
  • Very efficient retardation at low dosage
  • Rapid effect even with short mixing times
  • Very effective on CEM I-cements with high sulphate resistance (HS)
  • Very effective on slag cements (CEM III)
  • Additional consistency in some systems
  • Influence on the formation of ettringite in fresh mortar
  • High robustness in a wide dosage range
  • Compatible with other additives, such as Sika® ViscoCrete® superplasticizers
  • Same or higher final strength (unlike with several fruit acid based retarders)

Usage

SikaTard®-901 F provides excellent performance in the adjustment of setting time and workability of cement-gypsum based dry mortars.
The product is especially suitable for the following applications:
  • In with cement stimulated anhydrite flow screeds
  • In ternary, OPC-rich self-levelling underlayments
  • In cementitious self-levelling screeds
  • As co-retarder component in combination with fruit acid

Application

Application Information

Compatibility

SikaTard®-901 F may be combined with many other Sika products and most usual additives including superplasticizers, foaming agents / defoamers and stabilizers. In these combinations i.e. with Sika® ViscoCrete® superplasticizers, additional improvements in flow and setting-time adjustment can also be achieved.
Note: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes.

Dispensing

The product is added to the dry-mix. Avoid open storage because of very strong hygroscopicity.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

Typical dosage rage: 0.05 - 0.5 % of binder weight. Differences in binder type, age and storage conditions of the binder and other conditions and factors at the plant and/or on-site can also influence the setting time and therefore the dosage requirements.
