Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P
Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P is a high-performance, superplasticizer and water reducer in powder form, based on Sika® ViscoCrete® polycarboxylate (PCE) polymer technology.
- Very high initial flow
- Robustness regarding different sand qualities
- Very good flow and self-levelling behaviour
Usage
Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P can be used in dry mortar and binder systems with high calcium sulphate content including:- Portland and Portland composite cements
- Especially cements with a high sulphate and alkali content
- Alkaline activated calcium sulfate based binders, e.g. synthetic anhydrite
Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P is especially suitable for the manufacture of calcium sulphate flow screeds (ready-mix or transport-mixing and pumping-systems) but also other self-levelling screeds and underlayments, grouts and tile adhesives.
Advantages
Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P is adsorbed onto the surface of the binder particles and due to repulsive forces from the effect known as steric hindrance, the solid binder particles are very effectively dispersed in the mix.The benefits of Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P include, but are not limited to the following:
- High water reduction at low dosage
- Robustness regarding different sand qualities
- Very high initial flow
- Short mixing times due to fast adsorption
- Long-term stability which enables long slump life
- Efficiency over a wide pH-range
- Very good flow and self-levelling behaviour
- Self-compacting behaviour
- Increased strength development
- Improved shrinkage and creep behaviour
- Compatible with other additives
- Low influence on hydration, resulting in low activator/accelerator consumption
- Free of formaldehyde and ammonia

Application
Compatibility
Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P may be combined with many other Sika® products as well as with most existing accelerators, retarders and other additives used in dry-mortar applications. In order to achieve an optimal effect with respect to initial liquefaction and open time, the combination with other Sika® ViscoCrete® Powders is possible.
Important: Always conduct trials before combining products in any specific mix design and contact our Technical Services Department for any additional information and advice concerning specific combinations with other products.
Dispensing
Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P is added to the dry mix. For optimum utilisation of the high water reduction capability, the mortar must be mixed intensively. The wet mixing time depends on the mixer.
Recommended Dosage
Depending on application the dosage rate of Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P is between 0.05 and 0.5 % by weight of binder. At high dosage and/or at low temperatures Sika® ViscoCrete®-430 P can also cause retardation of the binder reaction. At too high dosage, the mixture may also tend to repel water or to separate.
Note: Preliminary testing is required to determine the exact dosage for your specific conditions. Please contact our Technical Services Department for more information and advice.
