SikaControl® E-150

Polymer dispersion for liquid-PROOF concrete

SikaControl® E-150 is a ready-to-use polymer dispersion for special applications in concrete, especially for liquid-proof concrete and as an intermediate post-treatment agent.

SikaControl® E-150 is a saponification resistant, plasticizer dispersion and emulsifier-free polymer dispersion. It causes in concrete:
  • Increased water retention capacity
 
  • Networking of the plastic particles with water evaporation
  • Sources of plastics for liquid exposure
  • Replenishment of the cavities in the hardened cement stone structures
This causes in polymer modified concrete:
  • Improved cohesion assets
  • Denser structure
  • Increased resistance to chemical attack
  • Increased resistance to freezing/thawing and de-icing salts
  • Higher flexural strength
  • Higher durability
  • Lower modulus of elasticity
  • Lower crack sensitivity
  • Good adhesion
Advantages as intermediate post-treatment:
  • Immediate evaporation protection for not ready for traffic concrete surfaces
  • Facilitates the smoothing of the concrete and can be worked on (plastic quality of the surface)

Usage

  • Concrete structures for the protection of the environment against water polluting liquids according to DAfStb Guidelines such as e.g. collection trays, tank cups
  • Concretes with high corrosion resistance, such as e.g. sewage pipes, sewage treatment plants, agricultural buildings
  • White topping with high impermeability requirements
  • Intermediate post-treatment for industrial floors

Shelf life

Minimum 6 month shelf life in sealed containers. Mix before using after longer storage times.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Application in liquid-proof concrete:
Recommended dosage: 10 - 15 wt% from the cement weight. SikaControl® E-150 is completely calculated on the mixing water. Add SikaControl® E-150 to the concrete in the plant with the mixing water or after water dosage. For homogeneous distribution in the fresh concrete, we recommend a wet mixing time of 45 seconds after the addition. SikaControl® E-150 cannot be added in with normal dosage facilities for admixture. We recommend a hose and/or diaphragm pumps. Tanks, pumps and supply lines should be made of corrosion-resistant metals or plastics. Immediately clean mixing tools and processing equipment with water after use.
Application as intermediate post-treatment: SikaControl® E-150 can be diluted as a maximum of 1:2 with water to improve the spray capability. Consumption 150 - 250 g/m², depending on the roughness of the surface. After the surface has been levelled off, spray apply SikaControl® E-150 evenly and with complete coverage. The sooner the application is executed on the fresh but non-bleeding surface, the more effective the evaporation protection will be. Not to be utilised in conjunction with hard material spreading.
